Rep. Harris made remarks on the House floor this past week in which he disparaged all the negative talk about Illinois and touted the many positive advantages that our State has to offer as it pursues the location for Amazon's second headquarters (HQ2).
Various units of Illinois government have offered a package of benefits and tax credits totaling nearly $2 billion, which is in line with what other states have offered Amazon. But just as important as the financial package, the work ethic and quality of the Illinois workforce, the location of our State, and the talented and educated citizenry are all major pluses for Amazon to consider. It's time to emphasize the positive!
